Villeurbanne defeated Monaco in a two-overtime derby
It took Villeurbanne and Monaco 50 minutes, two overtimes, to settle their “differences”, with the hosts taking the win (87-79) and Mike James having 8/27 shots.
The two French Euroleague teams crossed swords for the national championship on Sunday afternoon (13/2) and their battle looked unlikely as it was decided in a 50-minute game after two overtimes!
Villeurbanne beat Monaco 87-79 despite having 7/25 threes as the Monegasques were even worse with 5/25 shots behind the 6.75 line. Costa’s antitokunbo was not used by TJ Parker, with James Gist playing 42 minutes for the hosts and Mike James for the visitors.
