A major European website revealed the budgets of the 18 EuroLeague teams, with the trio of Real, Barcelona and CSKA standing out. See where Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are.

The well-known European site basketnews.com published an extensive research on the budgets of the 18 teams (actually 17 as Basconia didn’t want to cooperate) of the EuroLeague and provided some interesting results.

According to a report by journalist Domandas Urbonas, Real (€44m) and Barcelona (€43.5m) with CSKA are the teams that – as expected – have the largest “gross” budgets (player salaries and operating expenses) in the EuroLeague ( €33m) and Armani Milano (€30m) are the other two teams with a budget above €30m. Anadolu Efes (€25m) is believed to have reached that figure, but no official source from Turkey has confirmed it.

As for the Greek teams, Olympiakos will be presented with a “mixed” budget of 15 million euros (11th place in the EuroLeague), with 8.5 million euros going to players’ contracts, while Panathinaikos will have a budget of 9.5 million euros (2nd lowest in the EuroLeague), with €5.5m in player contracts.
