Maccabi Tel Aviv: The result of the investigation into the “party” of the three players after being excluded from the cup
Maccabi Tel Aviv announced the result of its investigation into what happened after the defeat – disqualification from the cup that cost Giannis Sfeiropoulos’ place.
The defeat ban from the Israel Cup a week ago brought chain developments in the Maccabi Tel Aviv organization with the removal of Giannis Sfeiropoulos from the head coach position.
Overall, the club’s management was naturally called in to resolve an out-of-competition issue, the video leaked starring Jalen Reynolds, James Nanali and Derrick Williams. A video showing the three foreign players celebrating at a Tel Aviv restaurant shortly after their side’s painful defeat.
A week after the video was leaked, Maccabi Tel Aviv issued a statement setting out the findings of his investigation into what really happened that night.
So the three players are:
- They ate at this restaurant as they always do after a home game since it is close to their homes.
- They didn’t post the video with the caption, “We don’t care,” but a waitress at the restaurant did
- They had no idea that someone was recording them with a cellphone at the time, or that the video was posted on social media
- The athletes realize that the picture was bad anyway and that it didn’t help the general situation
The three Maccabi Tel Aviv players even made the following written statement: “We apologize for the way the events were presented. We understand that although things are presented very differently, the images look ugly and hurt the feelings of friends and the team management. All we have for Maccabi Tel Aviv is love and respect. We know that every defeat hurts everyone inside and outside the club, especially one like Monday 14 February“.
