War in Ukraine: The EuroLeague postpones games of Russian teams to the 27th game
EuroLeague Basketball has decided to postpone all matches of Russian teams to the 27th game.
Not just one (Bayern’s game against CSKA Moscow), but three postponements decided the EuroLeague Basketball due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The event postponed the matches of all Russian teams (CSKA Moscow, Zenit and Unics Kazan) to matchday 27, namely:
- Bayern Munich – CSKA Moscow
- Basconia – Unics Kazan
- zenith street Petersburg-Barcelona
In light of the special and deplorable situation resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, EuroLeague Basketball has scheduled a conference call on Friday February 25th to decide on the next steps of the tournament. However, Zalgiris rushed to make it clear by announcing that it does not intend to play in the continuation of the regular season with CSKA Moscow and Zenit as a protest.
