Looking for a (new) stadium for Panathinaikos matches with Zenit and Unics Kazan
Following the decision announced by EuroLeague Basketball, Panathinaikos OPAP’s two away games with Zenit and Unics Kazan in March are now being sought.
On Friday afternoon, February 25, the EuroLeague Basketball teams announced that the joint decision was made that CSKA Moscow, Zenit and Unics Kazan will play all remaining home games on neutral ground.
Something that drastically changes the program and now forces the three Russian teams to look for a new venue to host the games that are going to take place. A development that directly affects Panathinaikos OPAP, who – in the rest of the regular season – have to play two games away from Zenit Ag. Petersburg (March 11) and Unics Kazan (March 24).
Two games for which EuroLeague Basketball is now forced to find a new stadium as neither Sibur Arena nor Basket Hall Kazan will be available.
On the contrary, Olympiakos played all their games on Russian soil in the first round of the regular season and will have to host the rest of the regular season against Zenit Ag. Petersburg (8/3), CSKA Moscow (20/3) and Unics Kazan (7/4).
