Euro League
Monaco – Fenerbahce 92-78: “swallowed” in ten minutes
The second ten minutes in Monaco were impressive and ensured that the French won the home win against Fenerbahce (92:78) in the 27th game of the EuroLeague.
Monaco has its sights set on the octave and doesn’t stop anywhere. Thanks to an impressive second half, Sasa Obradovic’s team easily edged out Fenerbahce (92-78) and remained – forever – in contention for a place in the regular octave of the season. The win even doubled in value after covering the -10 of defeat in the first round match in Istanbul.
A big protagonist for the winners was Alfa Diallo (24 points, 6 rebounds), in a night where Mike James stayed low (10 points with 1/10 shots and 8/10 shots). On the other hand, Fenerbahce failed to capitalize on Nado de Colo’s reappearance in the rotation, with the experienced guard offering 19 points with 5/10 shots and 6/6 shots in 22’21” attendance.
The race
The game was just a derby and stuff like that for a while. The ‘X’ (28-28) of the 12th minute turned into +22 (55-33) for Monaco at half-time thanks to the action of Will Thomas and Alfa Diallo, at a time when Fenerbahce were unable to the basics . With 3/17 threes, it was impossible for the Turkish team to compare anything in the game. Somehow the game basically ended with the end of the first half as the hosts didn’t leave a shadow of a doubt after the half-time break and with a big win they qualify for the EuroLeague postseason.
