EuroLeague: Nick Kalathis before a historic evening
The first court of EuroLeague’s 28th game spans four games, with Nick Kalathis poised for a big night of his career. Derby against the backdrop of the octave in Istanbul.
The EuroLeague currently continues without the three Russian teams (CSKA Moscow, Zenit, Unics Kazan) with the first plate of the 28th game, which includes four games. With no Greek collective presence (both Panathinaikos OPAP and Olympiakos play on the night of Friday March 4), but with a particular interest in what’s happening at the Palau Blaugrana.
The reason; Nick Kalathis has a chance to become the #1 assists player in recent EuroLeague history. The 32-year-old point guard is just one last pass behind the striker (where Vassilis Spanoulis stands) and the game against Monaco looks set to be historic for him.
The Sinan Erdem Dome match between Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce is also of great interest. The two Turkish teams are currently not in the top eight, which means that this game has the character of a final for both. The hosts already announced a sell-out and were expecting a win that would put them closer to qualifying for the postseason.
Detailed program of the day:
- Anadolu Efes – Fenerbahce (3/3, 19:30)
- Red Star – Baskonia (3/3, 20:00)
- Alba – Zalgiris (3/3, 21:00)
- Barcelona – Monaco (3.3., 22:00)
