EuroLeague: The proposal to exclude matches with Russian teams won by one vote

The decision on how to score teams in the EuroLeague was 7:6, not counting matches with CSKA Moscow, Zenit and Unics Kazan. What did Olympiacos and Panathinaikos OPAP vote for?

The dilemma facing EuroLeague teams over how to score this season has been both difficult and…divisive. At least that is what the result of the voting that took place between the thirteen (13) groups involved – the eleven shareholders plus the two affiliated clubs (Villeurbanne, Bayern Munich) shows.

You see, for only one vote came the result and the decision not to take into account what happened so far in the matches with the three Russian teams (CSKA Moscow, Zenit, Unics Kazan) eliminated from the rest of the season, unless the war in Ukraine will end in the near future. Opera and means that the seven (7) were for one side and the other six (6) for the other, with Olympiakos and Panathinaikos OPAP disagreeing.
