EuroLeague: 74 cases “broke out” within two and a half weeks
EuroLeague Basketball saw the pandemic for the second time in two years, with 74 cases sounding again in two and a half weeks.
Anantolou Efes joined the club of the EuroLeague teams who saw the coronavirus (again) knocking on their door. The Turkish club has eight cases, which increases the total number in the EuroLeague many times over. Within two and a half weeks (since December 14th when Real Madrid opened the Dance of Announcements) Finally, the leading European interclub organization saw that the pandemic was constantly bothering them and causing many problems, as well as game postponements.
So far, four teams, each with eleven (11), have been at the forefront of the cases. The reason for Panathinaikos OPAP, Olympiakos, Real Madrid and Armani Milano.
As it should be, after the five postponements of the 18th game, it is very likely that we’ll see more in the following games for the 19th game of the tournament. It goes without saying that neither Olympiacos nor Panathinaikos OPAP will play against Zalgiris or Alba Berlin this week.
The question is of course another: How much bigger will the problem in the EuroLeague be for the teams, the players and the coaches.
First, the teams will hold a video conference on Monday January 3 to assess the situation and see how they can facilitate the data (see Shortening Quarantine Days for Vaccinated People). We remind you that according to the existing health protocol, any athlete found positive for the coronavirus is required to refrain from the races for fourteen (14) days from the time the sample was taken.
