EuroLeague: Proposal for seven days of quarantine instead of 14
The proposal to shorten the quarantine days for players suffering from coronavirus from 14 to seven was put on the table by the EuroLeague in a conference call on Monday morning (March 1st). The decision should be made by Tuesday, January 4th.
In a conference call on Monday morning (3 January), the EuroLeague put the proposal on the table to shorten the quarantine days for players suffering from coronavirus. Of the 14 days a team member had to remain in quarantine, it will now be seven days in a process that is expected to be completed until Tuesday January 4th.
With the new dates, and if this proposal is accepted, fewer EuroLeague games will be postponed and players suffering from coronavirus will be able to return to their teams’ commitments in less time. However, in order for the athletes to be able to return to competition operations, they must pass negative PCR tests and have undergone a cardiological examination.
This thought has been around for a few days, as in many countries the days on which athletes and team members had to be quarantined have already been shortened. In fact, this development will help the organization not to be forced to postpone so many games a week due to the many games and the busy schedule.
