EuroLeague: Reduced quarantine for the unvaccinated and mandatory PCR tests without exception
The EuroLeague has made some changes to the coronavirus protocol and announced a reduced quarantine for unvaccinated athletes and, without exception, mandatory PCR tests every two to three days.
After shortening the quarantine from 14 to 7 days for vaccinated athletes, EuroLeague Basketball has some other changes regarding unvaccinated athletes and conduct preventive tests.
In particular, the organizing authority announced a shortened quarantine from 14 to 10 days for non-vaccinated athletes and will now be mandatory PCR tests or rapid every two to three days (two inside, three outside) to all athletes and employees, regardless of whether they are sick or vaccinated.
These steps were taken in parallel to reducing the quarantine for vaccinated players so that the teams are not deprived of the services of many players and the games can take place as originally planned. In addition, the EuroLeague had announced that 93% of team members (athletes, coaches, employees) are vaccinated, while only 7% remain unvaccinated.
