Jasikevicius: “Everything happened very quickly, but I’m happy to be here”
Sarunas Jasikevicius spoke about the deal with Fenerbahce and the clash with Monaco just a day after his appointment.
Sarunas Jasikevicius landed in Istanbul at midday on Thursday, December 14th and completed his first training session with Fenerbahce a few hours later. Be relaxed one day before the duel with Monaco.
The 47-year-old coach spoke for the first time in his role as Fenerbahce coach and commented on the speed with which everything happened in the last few hours, but also the reality of the game against Monaco.
In detail what he said:
“During the negotiations everything became very intense and very fast. The situation is of course not easy, but at the end of the day we are here to do a job, help Fenerbahce win games and have a successful season.
I am absolutely thrilled to be here. There are many familiar faces. I know the situation is not easy, so we will need everyone’s support.
Although I have been working as a coach for several years, the days I spent here (at Fenerbahce) don’t seem so far away anymore. It’s important that I know what Fenerbahce means. This is all very exciting. As for the game against Monaco, I think everyone understands his quality. They are a team that is on a steady path and participated in the Final Four last year.
She has continuity with her staff and players. We have to go out on the pitch and do everything we can to win. We will try to prepare players for this game with very few details and gameplay changes“.
