Zalgiris and Kazis Maksvitis are on the verge of an imminent divorce. The first favorite for the Lithuanian bench is Andreas Trinchieri.

Kazis Maksvitis leaves Zalgiris Kaunas after the Lithuanian club’s home defeat against Partizan on matchday 14 of the EuroLeague. His chair creaked starting in mid-November, BasketNews reported, and this match appears to be his swansong.

Andrea Trinchieri is the early favorite to take over the technical leadership of Zalgiris after ultimately failing to fill the position at Fenerbahce left vacant following the sacking of Dimitris Itoudis. According to the same source, the Kaunas team seems to have recently approached Sarounas Jasikevicius, but he decided not to return to the team where he first worked as a coach and eventually took over as manager of Fener.

After returning to the first team, he worked as a coach and eventually took over Fener.

It should be noted that Virtus (Banki instead of Scariolo), Baskonia (Ivanovic instead of Penaroja), Villerban (Posteso instead of Parker), Erythros Asteras (Sfairopoulos instead of Ivanovic) and Fenerbahce (Jasikevicius instead of Itoudis).
