No willingness to deal/sell Keenan Evans from Zalgiris Kaunas, with Kazis Maksvitis stating that the American does not provide for an opt-out in his contract.

The season that Keenan Evans is experiencing is magical. 15.7 points, 44% on threes, 2.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 16.8 points per 27:06 in 14 EuroLeague games, all after a very serious injury that slowed him down last year .

Since Zalgiris does not play at a high level of basketball (16th out of 18 teams with a record of 5-9), there have been rumors about the American guard’s departure in recent days. Evans has been linked to several EuroLeague teams, with journalists and insiders (but also “insiders”) writing that he has a low buyout, but on Sunday Kazis Maksvitis cleared the smoke and now it looks likely there is no fire.

I read the rumors and also had to talk to Paulius Iankounas to see what was going on. As far as I know there is no opt out for him and besides we would be crazy to let him go“, said the Zalgiris coach after the 79:55 victory over the Wolves for the Lithuanian championship.

In addition to Evans, McSvitis also addressed his near-fire, saying if it had happened, it wouldn’t have been such a big surprise. The Lithuanian coach thanked the people, athletes and agents for their support.
