The EuroLeague standings: With 50%, Olympiacos Piraeus is ahead, having clearly overtaken France
Olympiacos Piraeus overtook the home of Villeurbanne, now 0-8 in France, to rise to 50% after EuroLeague Matchday 16.
Olympiacos improved to 8-8 in the EuroLeague on Friday evening (December 22) after an away win against Villerban at the LDLC Arena. Piraeus became the eighth team to overtake Lyon in as many games. They have done the obvious for their level and now they look ahead to the next game, which will also be away, at Alba Berlin.
Barcelona with Laprovitola, Kalinic and Veseli celebrated a difficult double victory in Kaunas and beat Virtus Bologna 11-5. Fenerbahce, with 15 points from Papagianni and 13 assists from Kalathis, overtook Berlin with a score of 9-7, keeping them on track for sixth place and direct qualification for the tournament’s playoffs.
