With 34-year-old Young and a great fourth quarter, Prometheus Patras went to 2/2 in the EuroCup

Things and Wonders of Prometheus Patras in the EuroCup. Maki Giatras’ team were up to 11 points behind Gran Canaria just after the break but produced a terrific fourth quarter (27-12) to defeat Jaka Lakovic’s team 93-82 for the 2/2 – To achieve equalization in the EuroCup.

Great performance from Joe Young who finished the game with 34 points (8/12 2-pointers, 3/6 3-pointers, 9/9 shots), 2 rebounds and 6 assists! Kombikos and Nikos Gikas with 4/4 threes and 15 points overall.

The race

Prometheus got off to a good start in the game, picking up valuable points from the perimeter (4/8 3-pts), with Young and Cowan excelling offensively. On the other hand, Patrinoi had great difficulty meeting Balcherofksi, who scored 8 points (4/4 2 points) in the first period.

With Nicolas Brussino scoring 13 points in the second quarter, the balance turned and Gran Canaria went into the dressing room with a 7-point lead, clearly playing more as a team (14 assists to Prometheus’ 5).

Joe Young came back… hot after the break, scoring 16 points in the third period and keeping Prometheus alive.

But the Patrinos saved the best for last. With a partial score of 27-12, they managed to turn the match and put the contest at 2/2.
