Prometheus – Hamburg 81-77: High in the EuroCup with super young – condition

Joe Young and George Condit put on great performances as Prometheus beat Hamburg 3-1 81-77 in the EuroCup group stage.

It wasn’t an easy game, no one could describe it that way. And he proved it during his forty minutes. Prometheus and Hamburg put up a great fight for Day 4 of the EuroCup in Tofalos of Patras on Tuesday night (1/11) with Makis Giatras’ team winning (81-77) and competing in their group with a 3-1 record , while the Germans fell back to 2:2.

The race

Prometheus didn’t start the match well (5-11 in 5′, 2/8 shots with no assist) but turned the game around with a 9-4 run to lead by four (21-17) by the end of the period. At a time when the Germans had 1/8 threes, Young and Condit put in incredible things for 34-29 (from 13 points each) and for the 45-36 halftime where the visitors thanks in the huge difference in rebounding (16-29) and in their good two point percentage (13/25, 52%).

With Young and Simpson pulling most of the helm in attack, Prometheus stayed ahead early in the second half (56-50 at 26 minutes), going 61-60 at 30 minutes left the game open for any result and Yatras with his mouth open because of the decisions of the referees. The game was a derby throughout, with Condit hitting 19 points for 67-66, Ghika hitting a big three for 70-68 at 37 minutes, but the Germans had answers. Condit made it 74-73 at 39, Childs had 1/2 shots to tie at 55″ and Young 3/3 for 77-74 at 38.8″.

There followed a Hamburg error and a surprise goal from Dangubic, a phase that decided the game as the Germans went into two possession games, unable to do anything.
