Makis Yatras on his farewell to Prometheus: “I will not die, but I bowed, I was afraid”
Makis Yatras spoke about the health issue he is facing, this issue that forced him to leave Prometheus after losing to Turk Telecom.
For his second Goodbye to Prometheus, Makis Giatras was beyond emotional. The Greek coach said goodbye to his team, his second family, for health reasons and spoke about his decision after the home defeat against Turk Telecom on the 6th day of the EuroCup.
In detail what Makis Yatras said:
“We made an effort with a very good team. If you accept 98 points, you don’t have many chances of winning. They punished every weakness we had, especially in the fourth period. Congratulations to Turk Telecom.
Due to a personal health issue that is not current but has been ongoing for a month. The team did everything they could to help, but it’s beyond my powers, it’s something that bent me. i was scared I will not continue in the team. I want to say a thousand apologies to the people on the team, to the people who loved and supported us. I’m thankful for what we’ve been through.
I’m not going to die, I have some problems, I have to change some things, that is, the things that are visible. There are also some other issues related to the soul and mind. I think I will get through this and be strong. Thank you all. Everyone was with me, everyone helped me. The team wants me 100% and since I’m not, this is the right decision for me and for the good of the team“.
