Olympiacos – Bourges 60-73: The effort wasn’t enough, the French are on a different level
Bourges proved to be a very high obstacle for Olympiakos who lost to SEF (60-73) in the first game of the 8th phase of EuroCup Women.
The effort was impressive but the result was not positive for the Olympiacos women’s basketball team who were defeated (60-73) for the 8th phase of the EuroCup on Wednesday afternoon (23/2) at the Peace and Friendship Stadium of Bourges.
Martin Zimbarts’ team got a poor second place after ten minutes and were far behind as a result. He fought it in the fourth, bringing it down to eight (58-66) but achieving nothing and somehow qualifying for the next stage seems from difficult to unlikely as the French team has a really excellent squad.
Anna-Niki Stamolabrou (25 points) and Kristin Vitola (10 points – 9 rebounds) were the two who stood out from the red-whites, with Leticia Guapo (20 points) and Pauline Astier (13 points) leading ahead of Bourges.
