Virtus Bologna and Daniel Hackett shook hands on a two-year deal, Republicca reported on Tuesday, March 1st. Who is the star for CSKA Moscow?

With the sixth day of the war in Ukraine and CSKA Moscow counting casualties of foreign players (Almost everyone left for security reasons), it is logical that the appetite of several teams in Europe was whetted for the “bear’s” fortune. At least those with big wallets.

A case in point is Virtus Bologna, who are aiming to return to the EuroLeague for 2022/23 via this season’s EuroCup.

As early as Tuesday morning, March 1st, the Italian club was registered as the main prospect for the veteran guard, with ‘Repubblica’ stressing later in the day that both sides had already shaken hands!

The Italian publication speaks of a specific agreement, but without clarifying some fundamental details. The biggest thing of all is what is born with CSKA Moscow this season, that is, whether the Russian club will reopen under normal conditions – that is, if they return to the EuroLeague in due course.

In the first phase, Daniel Hackett verbally promised a summer contract with Virtus Bologna (ss: he remains free from CSKA Moscow). But if the war continues and EuroLeague Basketball implements the prospect of expelling the three Russian teams (CSKA Moscow, Zenit, Unics Kazan), then all foreigners from CSKA Moscow will start a series of talks with the club’s leadership about this their contracts.

In the pursuit, they are allowed to leave immediately. In such a case, Daniel Hackett could move to Bologna earlier in the summer.

At the moment, however, this is a scenario that no one can predict …
