Prometheus’ path to the 2023/24 EuroLeague
Prometheus had three steps to perform the miracle. Winning the EuroCup and getting the ticket for the EuroLeague of the 2023/24 season.
The first goal was to qualify for the knockout stage. Prometheus was successful and defeated Burg in Tofalos 89-75 on Wednesday evening (December 4th) to advance to the EuroCup quarterfinals where Ukraine’s Prometheus awaits him, albeit in Riga, Latvia.
Now the Patras team has a historic chance ahead of them to find themselves in… the EuroLeague in the 2023/24 season. You read that right, if Prometheus can do that 3/3 then next season it will play against Real Madrid, Barcelona, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos and all the big teams on the continent.
If Yannis Christopoulos’ team defeats Prometei, they will meet the winner of the match Ulm – Turk Telecom/Brescia. And if it survives the semifinals, it will face one of Paris, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Badalona, Gran Canaria, Bursaspor in the final, with the winner receiving the ticket to next season’s EuroLeague.
