Aris found out the nine opponents for the group stage of the EuroCup 2023/24 on Friday afternoon after the draw of the competition taking place in Spain.

Group A

The system for holding the EuroCup 2023/24

The 20 participating teams were divided into two groups of 10. In the next phase, the top six of each group advance and not the eight, unlike last year.

From then on, 1st and 2nd of each group will get a bye in the first phase of the playoffs. There, the third in Group A plays against the sixth in Group B, while the fourth in Group B plays against the fifth in Group A. Accordingly, third place in Group B will play sixth place in Group A and fourth place in Group A will play fifth place in Group B. Matches will be knockout rounds and the home team will consist of the teams who did better.

The winner of A3-B6 then plays the runner-up in Group B. The winner of B4-A5 plays the runner-up in Group A. Accordingly, the winner of B3-A6 plays the runner-up in Group A and the winner of A4-B5 on top of Group B. And those games will be singles.

The winners advance to the semi-finals and from there the EuroCup final pair is formed. There’s one more change here, as the semi-finals and finals are best-of-three series rather than knockout matches, with the team that finished higher in the regular season having home field advantage . In this way, the finalists can play 23 to 26 European games in the coming season.
