The EuroLeague has denied reports that the Wolves have requested a move to Dubai
In the publications of the last few hours there was talk of an application by the Lithuanian Wolves to move to Dubai in order to play their home games in the EuroCup there. However, the EuroLeague has issued an official statement denying that it had any influence in the matter.
The EuroLeague, with its official position, denied the reports of the last few hours that spoke of a request by the Lithuanian Wolves to declare Dubai as the headquarters for the games that they will play as the home team in the EuroCup.
As the organizer emphasized, he has not received a corresponding request from Wolves, therefore all games of the 2023-24 EuroCup season will be played normally in Vilnius as originally planned EuroLeague states that if it receives an attack on this issue in the future, it will review it like any other team.
EuroLeague basketball rankings in detail:
In response to recent articles published in several media outlets following the publication of a post by the Dubai Media Office on the X social media platform stating that Wolves will play all their home games in Dubai, EuroLeague Basketball would like to clarify the following:
• EuroLeague Basketball has never received a request from the Wolves to play one of their EuroCup home games on Dubai soil.
• Therefore, all Wolves’ 2023-24 EuroCup home games will be played in Vilnius as already planned.
• If an official request is received, EuroLeague Basketball will properly assess any implications not only for Wolves Vilnius, but for the entire EuroCup.
