The military conflicts in Israel led to a final postponement of Armani-Maccabi for the EuroLeague
The EuroLeague announced on Sunday afternoon (October 8th) the postponement of Maccabi’s away game against Armani for the second matchday of the competition (October 12th). The game between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Wolves (October 11th) for the EuroCup was also postponed.
The organizer has approved the request to postpone the away game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Armani Milano (October 12th) to the second matchday of the EuroLeague. The reason, of course, is the war that has been raging in Israel since Saturday morning (October 7th) after Hamas attacked the country.
For the same reason, Hapoel Tel Aviv’s game against Wolves in the second round of the EuroCup, scheduled for next Wednesday (October 11th), was postponed.
“Euroleague Basketball is monitoring the situation and will work with the affected teams to consider the best possible options for rescheduling the games based on the available dates. Further information will be announced as it becomes available.
Euroleague Basketball reiterates its firm commitment against all acts of violence and for peace and will continue to use its voice to promote respect, inclusion and diversity, values that are at the core of the organization and its teams.
Euroleague Basketball would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and everyone affected by the ongoing tragedy.” said the corresponding announcement.
