Aris triumphed in Podgorica with tough defense and passive seven points in the fourth third

Aris celebrated its third win in six games in the EuroCup of the 2023/24 season on Wednesday evening (August 11th) when it prevailed against Buduchnost 65:63 at the Morača Arena in Podgorica.

Thessaloniki improved to 3-3 (1-2 home and 2-1 away) and won 14-7 in the fourth period. After a 12-0 run the score was 60:51, 60:63, and in the end a save by McKinley Wright decided the game. Bankston (14 points, 7/7 2-pointers), Galinat (15 points, 4 rebounds) and Sanogo (11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists) played for everyone. And for the unprepared Toliopoulos and for the errant Carr and for Bohorides, who crossed the finish line with the score at 63:64 and handed the ball over to the home team.

Buduchnost fell to 2-4, being the favorite of the game, but in the end it did everything wrong and finished its forty minutes with 2/13 threes and 13 assists with 17 errors. Former Monaco player Yoan Macoudou scored 20 points in 36 minutes, but from then on no one supported him except Jacory Williams, who didn’t impress at all.

Aris expected to have around 100 supporters on his side, but the Montenegrin police did not give the green light and the Greek police did not allow them to leave Thessaloniki.
