Prometheus Patras – Valencia 68-71: He fought but lost to the Spaniards in the final

Prometheus fought against Valencia for 40 minutes but lost in the 10th game of EuroCup by 71-68 points. Agravanis and Rey are top for Patras.

Valencia gave their all in the final minutes of the game in Patras and defeated Prometheus 71:68 for the 10th EuroCup game. Elias Zouros’ players looked the 40-year-old Spaniard in the eye but ended up deflecting in a match for Agravanis and Rey.

The Spaniards, with first scorer Mike Toby and a gun at their best in rebounds, got a difficult doubles against a Prometheus who held off from start to finish. That leaves them third in the group, with Prometheus fading last with dreams of qualifying for the playoffs. Agravanis was the top scorer with 22 points for Prometheus while Ray had 15.

The race

Although the match didn’t start ideally, Prometheus found a goal from Agravanis and Rey and put a lot of pressure on the Spaniards in defence. Toby was the main spokesman in Valencia’s attack, who ended the first ten minutes with just a point difference. And the second ten minutes was a derby with Prometheus looking psychotic and very accurate in the bat. Valencia didn’t let him escape and both sides went into the dressing room with a score of 35-36 in favor of the visitors.

And the second half was a derby, with Valencia easily topping rebounds in place of Prometheus and renewing possession. A breakout from Patras, mainly with Agravanis, brought the difference to +5 for Ilias Zouros’ team at the end of the third period. In the fourth and crucial ten minutes, Valencia had the quality and composure to come back into the game and steal the win in the final with big baskets from Toby, leaving Patras with the double.
