TORONTO – Gary Trent did his best game of the season with 32 points as the Toronto Raptors beat the Charlotte Hornets 125-113 on Tuesday.

Trent had 31 points on November 18 in Salt Lake City.

Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby each had 24 points for the Raptors, who played without Fred VanVleet with a knee injury. Shiakam added 12 assists and nine rebounds.

“As long as we win, it’s fine for me,” the Cameroonian said with a smile. What matters most to me is victory. »

“Pascal was playing consistently,” added coach Nick Ners. He did not hesitate to brag about his teammates. »

Chris Boucher had 12 points, Malachi Flynn 11 and Dalano Banton 10. Banton signed three blocks for the Raptors, who visit the Bulls on Wednesday.

Toronto (23-22) reached a game and a half from Charlotte, which is in seventh place in the East.

The Raptors made 16 of the 34 three-pointers.

In contrast to their previous game against the Blazers, the Raptors excelled early in the game and after 12 minutes led 39-27. At halftime the score favored the local club with 76-61.

Charlotte did better in the third quarter (and the Raptors repulsed), but as soon as the lead was reduced to 80-75, Bauser hit the spot with a three-point shot. Montreal also gave seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

VanVleet’s case will be evaluated on a daily basis, said coach Nick Nurse.

VanVleet had only lost one game this season on November 13 against the Pistons, bored in the groin. Going into the game, he led the Raptors with 21.7 points per game this season. He also leads the club with seven assists per game and a success rate of 39.3% on three-pointers. VanVleet averages 38.2 minutes per game, a high NBA.

Toronto also made up for the absences of Scotty Barnes (wrist) and Cam Birch (broken nose).

LaMelo Ball had 25 points for the Hornets, who had won their last three away games.

Gordon Hayward lost his second consecutive game, suffering from a right foot. He is fourth in his team with 17 points per game, on average.

Boston leads with 53

Jason Tatum had 36 points and Jalen Brown had 30 points and 10 rebounds before the two rested for the fourth quarter as the Boston Celtics beat the Sacramento Kings 128-75.

Robert Williams finished with 13 points and 17 rebounds for the Celtics, who started with a hot start and never left the Kings, even when both teams were booked for the fourth quarter of a long game. Boston increased its lead to 60 points before it finished.

Buddy Hild was ahead of the Kings by 11 points. He was the only Sacramento player to score more than ten points as the Kings lost their fourth in a row.

Richaun Holmes had nine points and nine rebounds and Tyrese Haliburton added seven assists for Sacramento.

Davis’s victorious return with the Lakers

The Lakers, taking advantage of the return of Anthony Davis after 17 away games, and being carried away by the still excellent LeBron James, showed their best face in Brooklyn (106-96).

It’s necessarily better with Davis. An “alley-oop” by LeBron to AD, who had just set up a screen to open the scoring. Against the latter against James Harden four minutes later, reinforced by a double step by Russell Westbrook who went as against.

These are definitely two types of actions, taking advantage of their “Big3” qualities, that can still validate the work of the Lakers, very volatile during the first part of the season, if they manage to repeat them. Weeks will show if these automations will stabilize as they improve, but in the meantime success can be seen as a click.

“His mere presence on the floor, his impact, his dynamism, his defense bring us so much… And then it creates an additional danger for our opponents, who can not have their eyes fixed only on me,” he reacted. King James, who again threw over the talk (33 points, 12/21 on shots, 7 rebounds, 6 assists) and was very happy to find his teammate (8 points, 4 blocks and 2 assists), finally valid after spraining his left knee.

When the Nets returned to the two lengths (71-69) in the third quarter, he was the one who put the throttle back on the California engine, with seven points in a quick succession that calmed the opponents’ inclinations. And to money timecuts twice in 40 seconds and each time sank back, for the biggest gap of the race (100-85).

On the other hand, the absences of Kyrie Irving (who prevented him from playing in New York because he was not vaccinated) and Kevin Durant (knee) were obviously a burden, despite James Harden’s efforts in triple-double mode (33 points, 12 rebounds, 11 passes).

Despite the second consecutive failure, Brooklyn remains 3rd in the East. Back in balance (24-24), the Lakers remain 8th in the West, just ahead of the Clippers (9th).

What a return from the Clippers!

The Clippers did not achieve anything less than the second biggest comeback in history, winning in Washington (116-115) after being 35 points behind before the break.

After a disastrous first half, which pushed coach Tyron Lue to punch Reggie Jackson and Ivica Zubac, who failed, the second division of the Clips achieved the incredible, with an excellent streak by Luke Kennard (25 pts)) , who has scored seven points in the last nine seconds, including a shot from behind the bow out of balance with the foul as a bonus 1.9 seconds from the end.
