On January 26, 2020, it was much more than the basketball world shook. Near or far, the tragic deaths of Coby Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people have shaken the entire planet.

Exactly two years after his death, the memory of “Black Mamba” has been honored by his family, loved ones, fans, former teammates and fans around the world. Those who admired Bryant will surely remember vividly the moment they learned of his death in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.

To honor the victims, Los Angeles-based sculptor Dan Medina erected a temporary statue of Kobe and Gianna Bryant at the crash site.

The sculptor himself brought the 150-pound bronze statue to the crash site. We can see Bryant and his daughter dressed in matches. The father holds his daughter by the shoulder, the one holding a basketball on her side.

Medina added the names of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, as well as those of the seven other people who died in the crash – John Altobelli, his wife, Keri, and their daughter Alyssa. Christina Mauser; Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton and pilot Ara Zobayan – are listed in its database.

At the base of the statue we also read “Heroes come and go, but legends are eternal. »
