NEW YORK – The Lakers’ LeBron James will return to Cleveland as captain for the All-Star Game on February 20.
The Grizzlies ‘Ja Morant and Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins will compete in the annual classic for the first time.
The Nuggets ‘Nikola Jokic and the Warriors’ Steven Curry have also been voted key players for Western clubs, the NBA announced on Thursday.
Coming from the East: Kevin Durand (Nets), John Antetokunbo (Bucks), DeMar DeRozan (Bulls), Joel Ebid (76ers) and Tray Young (Hawks).
Leaders will be James and Durand, the most popular on both sides of the ballot, including fans, members of the media and active players.
We will find out the choices of James and Durand on February 10th.
Hailing from Akron, James won the NBA Championship with the Cavaliers in 2016, his second term with them. He started his career with Cleveland in 2003.
Durand may need to miss the game with a left knee injury.
The NBA will announce the reserves on February 3.
