Edwards was fined $40,000 for homophobic remarks
The NBA has fined Wolves’ Anthony Edwards $40,000 for making homophobic and offensive comments.
Around mid-September, an Instagram story by Anthony Edwards caused a stir when he appeared to be making extremely lewd comments about a group of people. His homophobic comment had already made the rounds online before the Wolves player removed it from his account.
A few weeks later, the NBA fined him $40,000 for this act and the inappropriate comments, while he apologized.
“What I said was immature, hurt people and showed a lack of respect. I’m really sorry. It is unacceptable for me and anyone else to address someone like that. There’s no excuse for what I’ve done. I wasn’t brought up that way.”
