Big move with Caris Levert, the Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers shook the waters of the NBA when they acquired Caris Levert from the Pacers, giving the Indianapolis team little compensation.
All-in by the Cavaliers, who are having a great season and seem determined to get as far as they can in the playoffs. The Cleveland team reached an agreement with the Pacers (right before the Ohio fight) to take Caris Levert from Indianapolis and bolster their peripheral line, which Colin Sexton – Ricky Rubio lost to a serious season-ending injury.
The 27-year-old periphery had switched to the Pacers via the Rockets to bring James Harden from Houston to Brooklyn. This year he has 18.7 points (50.1% in two points, 32.3% in three points, 76% in shots), 3.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and a steal every 31.1 minutes in 39 games, he is a player who can work in three positions, but mainly in guard positions. He will score, defend, create, assist on rebounds and likely play alongside All-Star Darius Garland.
Notably, the Cavaliers acquired him by giving Ricky Rubio, who won’t be playing this year and will be a free agent by the end of the season, along with a protected first-round pick in 2022 and two second-round picks in the future draft . The Cleveland team is ranked 4th in the East in a group of 67 teams battling to directly qualify for the playoffs.
