Jokic said what Giannis said: “Basketball in Europe is more difficult than in the NBA”
Nikola Jokic joins the list of players who have openly stated that being productive in Europe is harder than in the NBA.
It’s accepted now, but it never hurts…repeat, being a productive player in Europe is harder than in the NBA. And Nikola Jokic is the last to support this in his statements and take the baton from other NBA players.
The Nuggets star was asked at the team’s media day if he thought it was more difficult for a player to score – or pass – in a European competition (like EuroBasket) than in the NBA. And – as Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo, among others, have explained in the past – he argued that was the case.
“When is it harder? Sure, because you have to think faster” the Serb initially argued, to add: “When you overtake your personal opponent in the NBA, you can see help coming. In Europe, help is always there. So you have to think ahead and act accordingly. It’s interesting.”
At the end of the matter, Jokic went into the matter a bit and emphasized: “It’s a different game, different. Of course, different regulations also play a role. The size and spaces on the floor, the three-point line. There is no three second attack for defense and the big ones can just stay inside. The three-point line is closer.”
