Williamson: “I’m at my best, I enjoyed getting up at 5 a.m. to train”
Zion Williamson told Pelicans Media Day that he feels like he’s in the best physical shape of his career, adding that he’s enjoyed the (very) morning workouts he’s been doing over the summer.
Zion Williamson is impatient. The fact that he missed the entire past season certainly contributed to this. The really good news, however, was different: he declared that he was in the best phase of his career.
“I still have a long time to play in an official game, so my excitement is through the roof.” said Williamson, adding in the same spirit: “I can’t wait to get on the pitch.”
Speaking about how he’s feeling, the Pelicans star was clear: “I feel at my best. I feel like I’m moving faster, jumping higher. I feel great.”
Finally, he also referred to his famous summer morning workout to improve his physical condition, waking him up at 5 a.m.: “I was always a withdrawn child. This is me. I’ve always wanted to have fun doing what I love. While I was in Fort Lauderdale, I got up very early to train.
After about a week, I didn’t feel weird waking up at 4:30 or 5 in the morning. I just woke up to go to training and work.”
