The Grizzlies agreed to an early two-year contract extension with Adams
The Grizzlies tied Steven Adams until 2025 after agreeing to a two-year early contract extension with the New Zealander, totaling $25.2 million.
Steven Adams emerged as a valuable cog for the Grizzlies last season, forming an excellent duo under the basket with Jaren Jackson. With his contract expiring in the summer of 2023, Memphis wanted to “tie him down” so he wouldn’t get adventurous.
As has been revealed, the Grizzlies settled with the New Zealand center on a two-year extension to his contract through 2025 for $25.2, which provides… peace of mind but also continues the team’s logic of working out early contract issues for the main body players.
In the 2021-22 season, Adams averaged 6.9 points, 10 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26 minutes played (75 games, all as a starter).
