After the departure of giants like Yao Ming (2.29 m) or Shaquille O’Neal (2.16 m), the league finds other great players to fill the void left by these stars. In the 2022-2023 season, here we present the five tallest players in the NBA.

The tallest players in the NBA
Boban Marjanovic (Houston Rockets): 2.24m
The Rockets player is currently the tallest player in the NBA. The Serbian stands at 2.24m and has shown that he can be a key player on any team after coming through the 76ers, Mavericks, Pistons or Clippers.
Marjanovic is one of the most efficient scorers in the entire NBA relative to minutes spent on the floor. His action time is limited, but he always contributes and delivers.
Kristaps Porzingis (Washington Wizards): 2.21 meters
The Latvian is, along with Marjanovic, one of the tallest men in the NBA, at 2.21 meters. However, Porzingis has been able to make that height another weapon to play outside and become a defining interior as a three-pointer.
Injuries have hampered him, but when healthy, Porzingis is a very dangerous offensive weapon for his teams.
Bol Bol (Orlando Magic): 2.18 meters
Manute Ball’s son made his NBA debut with the Denver Nuggets in 2019-2020, averaging 12.4 minutes per game in the seven games he played in the Disney Seeding Games, in addition to seeing some Playoff action . Bol Bol has inherited his father’s height and is 2.18m tall with a wingspan of 2.34m.
Plagued by injuries and without real opportunitiesBol was traded to Boston, from where he was sent back to Orlando.
Luke Cornett (Boston Celtics): 2.18 meters
After going through several franchises in his early years in the league, Kornet hopes to have found a solid home in Boston. Like Porzingis, he is one of them Giants who doesn’t use his inches in the paint, but excels primarily as a shooter.
In fact, in his NBA career he has attempted almost twice as many three-pointers as two-pointers, although lately he has been changing his characteristics.
Rudy Gobert (Minnesota Timberwolves): 2.16 meters
If the other names on the list use their inches to stand out mostly on offense, Gobert uses his height to be one of the most dominant defenders ever seen in NBA history. As marked by three Defender of the Year awards.
After his time in Utah, the Frenchman now plays in Minnesota, forming an excellent interior duo with Karl-Anthony Towns.
