Nate Robinson has announced that he has kidney failure
Nate Robinson shocked the NBA after revealing he’d had kidney failure for four years and came forward to get more people talking.
Nate Robinson suffers from kidney failure. The former NBA player revealed he’s had this health issue for the past four years, which shocked the NBA, adding that he thought now was the best time to come forward.
“I want to be the voice for those who are struggling to speak out about the disease and focus on a bigger goal. Health. I’ve never been the vocal leader type, preferring to speak with actions, but now it’s time for me to speak up and help people who are suffering from kidney failure.” said the 38-year-old guard with 11 years in the NBA, among other things, in his announcement.
Robinson’s revelation came just hours after it was announced that Dikebe Mutombo had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, another blow to the NBA.
Robinson was drafted 21st for the Knicks by the Suns in the 2005 NBA Draft. He played in the NBA from 2005 to 2016 and averaged 11 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3 assists on 36% 3-point shots in 23 minutes. However, most people know him for his incredible jumping ability, which has made him the shortest player in history to win a spike competition (he’s only 1.75m tall).
