The Hawks signed Hunter to a four-year, $95 million contract
The Hawks showed their trust in DeAndre Hunter by agreeing to a four-year, $95 million early extension.
The Hawks had until Tuesday morning (October 18) Greek time to offer DeAndre Hunter an early contract extension. They waited until shortly before the end of the corresponding term and finally found the young forward and agreed with him on a 4-year contract worth 95 million dollars.
Atlanta drafted Hunter 4th in the 2019 NBA draft and indicated from the start that they want him to be a core member of the team, having immediately named him a starter. Since then, the young forward has had some good moments but some injuries didn’t let him offer what he could.
In the 2021-22 season, Hunter averaged 13.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 37.9% 3-point counts in 30 minutes (53 games – 52 as a starter).
