Shai Gilgeous-Alexander he has taken his pulse LA Clippers. The team that selected him in the 2018 Draft (previously signed with Charlotte) and where he made his NBA debut has been one of the main targets of the Canadian since the Californians moved him in 2019 to take over for Paul George. In Oklahoma City Thunder SGA has established itself as one of the best producers and managers in its class, someone with overflow and current and who on the evening of Tuesday 25 October gave a recital before his former franchise.

With 33 points on 11-of-22 field goals (2-of-2 3-pointers), 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks Shai drove Oklahoma City in style win against Clippers without Kawhi Leonard or Paul George By the way. A win that opened up OKC’s particular box (1-3) but an important one, especially considering the history of its star.

His excellent performance Cab should not be overlooked, especially when all statistics are entered into databases. The Canadian is the second player in league history to have 33 points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists, shoot over 50% from the field and make all of his 3-point and free throw attempts. The only precedent? Scotty Pippenwho on December 21, 1991 did the same against Atlanta Hawks in one of the most complete nights of his career.

If the search reduces the annotation to 30 points, only one more name appears: Julius Erwin. The 76ers star dropped that line in a timeless game in 1984 against the Pistons that went into overtime, which makes it clear how timely and complicated Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s milestone was.

Cy is good for the Clippers. Of the 9 games SGA has played against the Angelenos, they have won 3, a not very favorable record but considering the level of Oklahoma City during that time, it takes on more value. Interestingly, the last two games have been won by the Canadian.

However, what was relevant was their number in these engagements. In three of them (including today) he has exceeded 30 points and in three others he has added 7 assists or more. Averaged 22.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists on over 50% from the field and a very high 46.7% from three.

Shai started this run in impressive fashion, unlike Oklahoma City Thunder who has endured a tough schedule (2 games vs. Wolves, 1 vs. Nuggets). Next season again the LA Clippers on the night of October 27th, probably with the two opposing stars in attendance.
