DeRozan surpasses 20,000 points and Popovich calls timeout to watch as he is idolized
DeMar DeRozan made history by surpassing 20,000 points as part of the Bulls’ showdown with the Spurs, and Gregg Popovich called for a time-out to watch his former player be idolized.
A major milestone was achieved by DeMar DeRozan, who became the 50th player in NBA history to surpass 20,000 points!
The 33-year-old Chicago Bulls guard/forward scored his 20,001 midway through the first half of the game against the San Antonio Spurs. Career point, and right at that moment his former coach, the great Gregg Popovich, quickly called time out.
