The Celtics are six steps away, 105-95 against the Atlanta Hawks in Boston
The Celtics entered the top 6 in the East after beating the Hawks at home (105-95). The Boston team’s battle with the Toronto Raptors for direct qualification for the playoffs is great.
The Celtics clinched a big win on Sunday night (2/13) when they beat the Hawks 105-95 at the Garden of Boston and went 33-25 (20-10 home and 13-15 a) to go into the Drafting first place Six from the East lead straight to the playoffs.
The battle for the top 6 in this area is unreal, with the Heat, the Bulls, the Cavaliers, the Bucks and the Sixers all having a significant lead (and small differences between them) for the top 5 and the Celtics battling with the Raptors for sixth place as the Nets and Hornets lost ground.
The Celtics scored 45 points in the third period to convert -10 to +9 in twelve minutes. They played excellent defense in the second half, with Jason Tatum unopposed (38 points, 10 rebounds) against the Falcons, who didn’t have the injured John Collins in their lineup. Trey Young and Bogdan Bogdanovic fought all alone but had 56 points from 46 tries with the next scorer being DiAndre Hunter with 10 points.
