Recently Golden State Warriors sanctified champion in the NBA for the fourth time since 2015. It’s been less than five months for the outcome of the NBA Finals 2022. And yet the situation is seen completely different for those of Steve Kerr.
The Warriors found themselves in trouble after the internal problems which came to light with the conflict between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole. And while that may be behind them, they still can’t look like the machine they were last season. His 3-6 record draws attentionand much more the wretched record they mark as visitors with zero wins in five appearances.
As of last weekend they from San Francisco were traveling in the Eastern Conference of the NBA and the celebrations are not in sight, despite the fact that the opponents they had were, for the most part, among the weakest teams on that side of the map.
Charlotte Hornets beat the Warriors in overtime, without LaMelo Ball or Terry Rozier. Detroit Pistons scored 128 points against them and beat them easily. Miami Heat, a higher-caliber team, overcame an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat them 116-109. Y Orlando Magicwhich was last at 1-7, rallied from a 16-point deficit in favor of Golden State to win 130-129 with a masterful Jalen Suggs in the clutch. None of Golden State’s four shooters has a positive record in this season and only Miami is in the top ten in the East.

Some data serve to illustrate it horror week that Warriors live in Halloween seasons. They allow a 39% success rate on threes to their opponents and 33.8 free throws per game! (league average is about 22). His defensive rating is the worst in the NBA over the last four games for each team.: I receive 120.8 points per 100 possessions when they allowed just 106.6 points per 100 possessions last season (they were the second-best defense in 2021-22).
Among the players, the bench doesn’t seem to provide solutions: Jordan Poole is averaging 18 points per game in this losing streak, shooting 42.9% from the field but 30% from three and nearly four losses per game. JaMychal Green and Moses Moody, the other two minors averaging at least 16 minutes per game, have +/- -7.5 and -4.8 respectively.
Jonathan Cuminga only had significant minutes against the Detroit Pistons (19, in which he had 4 points and 2 rebounds) and James Wiseman is also limited to a very minor role. (9.2 minutes per game over last four games) and no more time on the court, while Donte DiVincenzo, the most important addition for this campaign, is wounded since October 23.
So even though Steph Curry is adding 31.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game, it’s not enough. Not even with the 15 three-pointers that Curry and Thompson combined for in Orlando could they win.

“We have to lift each other up, everyone in the locker room has to understand that.. That’s what the job requires, we understand… Our energy and effort was there, we just don’t have any results to prove it.”Steph Curry said after the fourth consecutive defeatand remembered: “We’re not in this situation for long.”
Draymond Green passed on the idea that the team’s problem isn’t mental: “I don’t think motivation is a problem. Do you think Steph Curry has trouble motivating herself? I don’t believe in that.” Green also pointed out the mistakes of the team’s young players, but said Defeats are a problem both for the youngsters and for them, the stars.
This Warriors journey will end on Friday night with a visit to some New Orleans Pelicans that they have blood in their eyes after an unusual loss to the Lakers, and that they have strong names: Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, Jonas Valanciunas… Enough material to be a team to be feared.
