What are NBA G League contracts like?

Players can sign one-year contracts with the G League itself rather than individually with teams. Some may also sign a dual contract with an NBA franchise.

Here are the rules for those contracts, according to the G League website:

Beginning in the 2017 offseason, NBA rosters were expanded from 15 to 17 players with the addition of two slot players under “Dual Contracts”.

NBA teams can have up to two players on dual contracts who will spend the majority of the season in the NBA G League and no more than 45 days with their NBA team. Only players with four or fewer years of NBA service can sign dual contracts, which can be for one or two seasons.
