NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on Kyrie Irving: “I’m disappointed”
Kyrie Irving’s lack of an apology and genuine remorse further angered NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who issued a statement against the Brooklyn Nets player.
The uproar that erupted from Kyrie Irving’s new unacceptable actions created a very ugly situation across the NBA. The veteran guard and the Nets made an announcement that sounded more like an attempt at damage control and less like an apology for what Irving said and tweeted, but NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was unconvinced by the move and his statement, he pressed vented his disappointment with the Brooklyn team player.
“Kyrie Irving has acted ruthlessly by releasing a film containing deeply anti-Semitic material. While we appreciate that he will be working with the Brooklyn Nets to fight antisemitism and other forms of discrimination, I am disappointed that he did not unreservedly apologize and denounce the harmful content of this film he released. I will meet with him next week to discuss this situationAdam Silver’s testimony is.
