Pressure on Nets owners not to hire Udoka as head coach

According to US reports, those close to Nets owner Joe Tsai are pressuring the team’s strongman not to hire Ime Udoka over the veteran coach’s suspension.

The Nets have been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, most recently with the suspension of Kyrie Irving for promoting an anti-Semitic film. As a result, he needs to be rested, which puts the thought of Ime Udoka replacing Steve Nash on the team’s bench in a different context.

When the Celtics veteran served a year’s ban for an affair with a team employee, Brooklyn saw – once again – people turn against him at the thought of bringing a man with Udoka’s track record into their organization.

That’s why, according to American reports, people close to the Nets’ owner, Joe Chai, are pressuring him not to hire the experienced technician.

Based on what is being reported, aside from the fact that Udoka is currently considered a person that no one wants to be associated with anyway, people within the Nets organization feel the team is not at this point should cause more.

It remains to be seen whether Tsai will take into account the opinions of those close to him – and also… public opinion – and turn his attention elsewhere, or continue with Udoka anyway.
