Jaylen Brown has shown support for Kyrie Irving, who is waiting for the NBA Players Association to appeal the Nets’ decision to knock out the 30-year-old guard.

Jaylen Brown, who is also a vice president of the NBPA, expressed his belief that the Players Association will appeal the Nets’ decision to suspend Kyrie Irving.

Brown told the Globe the Players Association considers the six conditions the Nets imposed on Irving’s reinstatement as excessive because there are no guidelines in the collective agreement dictating what someone can post on social media media.

“I don’t think Kyrie is antisemitic. He made a mistake. We understand the importance of condemning hate speech. There’s a difference between what someone says and posting a link on social media with no description. Some will say there is no difference, but there are no stipulations in this CBA. This is new territory for everyone and everyone is trying to figure out the difference between the two.

I expect the Players Association to appeal Irving’s ban from the Nets. Many players expressed their dissatisfaction with the conditions placed on his return.”
