On Tuesday morning, November 8th, Adam Silver and Kyrie Irving met to defuse the situation.
From the moment the situation around Kyrie Irving spiraled out of control, Adam Silver quickly became part of the de-escalation effort. The NBA commissioner had stated early on that he plans to meet with the Brooklyn Nets point guard in person, which happened on Tuesday morning, November 8th.
According to Sams Karania, the two men spoke to find a solution together and defuse the situation. What does that mean; For Kyrie Irving to put his mistake behind him (he admitted it via his Instagram account) and find a way to return to everyday NBA life — for now, the Brooklyn Nets have kicked him off the team.
As characteristically stated in Sams Karania’s tweet: “They’ve had a productive visit to understand (the data) with the goal of paving the way for the Brooklyn Nets to work with their superstar on a potential path forward“.
