Jalen Brown scored 26 of the 29 points in the first half as the Boston Celtics won their ninth straight win over the Philadelphia 76ers 135-87 on Tuesday night.
Jason Tatum added 28 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for the Celtics, who have regained ground in the Eastern Conference thanks to their excellent play lately. They have won 11 of their last 12 games.
It’s the biggest win margin for the Celtics against the Sixers in 457 games in their history.
Joel Embiid had 19 points and 9 nine rebounds for the 76ers. The NBA top scorer started the game with an average of 29.5 points. Embiid saw his streak of games with at least 25 points stop at 31 in a row.
James Harden made his Philadelphia debut in street clothes. The recently acquired star continues to recover from a thigh injury. Harden is scheduled to make his 76ers debut on February 25 in Minnesota.
Earlier Tuesday, Philadelphia introduced Harden to a press conference at the team’s training facility in Camden, New Jersey, after last week’s trade by the guard upset Ben Simmons at the Brooklyn Nets. Harden received a standing ovation as he entered the pitch unannounced during the pre-match warm-up and the arena erupted when he hit Liberty Bell before the players were introduced.
The Celtics led to 51 points in a second half that was marred by the disapproval of disgruntled fans.
