The Boston Celtics are the hottest team in the NBA and not even the best Luka Doncic was able to prevent the Greens from running over their Dallas Mavericks. A resounding victory for the team led by Joe Mazzulla who gave the Texans no choice by controlling the score from start to finish and 125 to 112 victory.
A meeting in which Doncic left some numbers to remember, but which were accompanied by a show on the beautiful parquet. With 42 points on 17 of 28 attempts (60.7%), 8 rebounds and 9 assists The Slovenian was the only beacon that shone in his team’s defeat. Too much alone and without support for the first 36 minutes of the match, this was another solo performance from the former Madrid player. Only a late appearance of it Christian Wood (26 points, 12 rebounds) changed things a bit.
Luca is on a different planet right now… he has 42 pts, 8 REB, 8 AST and that step back!

Boston proved to be the top ring contender in the East with a dominant performance. A triumph in style where Jayson Tatum presented his solid MVP candidacy in front of the eyes of the entire NBA in his hands 37 points on 11 of 24 field goals (45.8%), 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Although, perhaps, what should be highlighted more was his defensive contribution, leaving 2 blocks, one of them on Doncic who were picked up in the stands.

Boston Celtics vs. Dallas Mavericks: highlights and summary
Last room
Finish: 125-112 – The Mavs’ hopes are dashed in a matter of seconds. And it’s that just when it looks like they’re about to get fully into the game, their opponents turn it around. A tremendous job of consistency and connection by the Celtics who deserves a win.

113-99 (5:09) – But Jaylen Brown immediately answers with a 5-0 run of his own. Shining awnings.
109-99 (5:40) – 41 points for Doncic! The Slovenian reduced the gap to just 10 goals with 5 minutes to go.
109-96 (6:47) – But to solve Boston’s problems, there’s always Tatum:

105-92 (8:45) – Jason Kidd’s men close the gap by extending their good finish to the last round and appeal for the epic in this close.
Third quarter
101-85 – The Boston Celtics gave a sample of why they are the main contenders for the ring in the Eastern Conference in this third quarter. Despite the fact that they have conceded the partial (31-35), the reality is that they forced Dallas to play the way they wanted: forcing Doncic to take on a large offensive load and that the rest of them do not have options to make easy shots.
96-73 (3:56) – Short flash from Dallas via a triple and assist from Doncic that forces Matsula to call a timeout to stop the set.
93-67 (4:35) – The Mavericks are completely out of the game and calling time. It didn’t take long for Jason Kidd to show the white flag.
89-65 (7:31) – Boston makes the most of the game by taking advantage of Dallas’ poor defense: five players in the paint and no one paying attention to the shooters.
84-62 (8:00) – 29 points on 16 shots for the former Real Madrid player. But the key to the game is that Luka only has 1 assist. Well done Boston.

72-51 (10:40) – The Luka Doncic thing is starting to make no sense. Every time he touches the ball, the Slovenian leaves a pearl. 5 points for Dallas and all with his signature.
Second bedroom
70-40 – Luka Doncic’s return to the floor didn’t change things much for Dallas, it just increased the Mavs’ scoring volume. The Celtics have the game completely under control, based on outside success and defensive prowess.
65-43 (2:03) – Incredible start for the Celtics from the triple jump, who are 11-19 (57.9%). This goes a long way to explaining their distance on the scoreboard.
62-42 (3:00) – The comeback remains an unfinished wish: the Mavs don’t have the day. The Celtics are running over opponents with little opposition and Jason Kidd doesn’t seem to have an answer.
53-40 (5:21) – 10-3 partial favors Dallas closing positions and avoiding early setback.
50-33 (7:30) – The Celtics score in all ways:

47-28 (8:40) – Less than four minutes to play and the Celtics are in position to put the game away for good. Enchanting start of these Mazzulla.
40-28 (9:43) – Boston picks up where they left off with a lot of offensive dominance. Dallas has started to be more aggressive on defense by double-marking Tatum, but the Greens are quickly finding the cracks.
First quarter
34-23 – Terrible close out of the first round by Dallas who took a loss that led to a last minute basket by Brown. The Celtics dominate the game based on defense and aggressiveness in their divisions towards the basket. Even the best Doncic (15 points on 6 of 10 shooting) is not enough.
26-14 (4:00) – Jaylen Brown is not far behind and her start is in the hands of Slovenia:
😱 And to him, who stops him?

22-14 (5:00) – Greens do whatever they want with their opponents. They have scored 9 of their first 13 attempts without apparent trouble:

10-15 (7:40) – The Celtics are getting some distance on the scoreboard thanks to some very focused Jays. Lots of problems for the Dallas defense when it comes to zone protection.
8-8 (9:50) – Very even start between the two teams where the high tempo is constant. Lots of balls for Lukas as Boston looks to attack the rim from the start.
0-2 (12:00) – Initial jump and first basket for Luka Doncic with a great one fade.

In recent days there has been a lot of speculation about Jayson Tatum’s physical condition. The Celtics player has been having issues with one of his ankles, but as Joe Majula announced in a press conference, he will be able to play.
