Crazy scene where Carlisle announces Tristan Thompson is leaving the Pacers for the Bulls

After the end of the Pacers’ game against the Wizards, an incredible incident happened when Indiana’s coach Rick Carlisle announced the release of Tristan Thompson, but also that the Canadian will join the Bulls.

The Bulls added experience and — most importantly — depth to their injury-hit roster after agreeing with Tristan Thompson. This is not surprising, however, as the news was announced by… Pacers coach Rick Carlisle following Indiana’s win over the Wizards (113-108) in which Thompson had 17 points in 21 minutes of attendance!

In one of the most unusual scenes in recent years, the Indiana coach thanked Thompson for his offer at the press conference, then announced the news: “Theif nice while it lasted. He’s going to a new team, he’s going to join an eastern team claiming the title. It’s a little north, starting with “S” and ending with “O”. I mean Chicago for anyone who didn’t get it!” Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan also spoke about the event, saying that Thompson is a good friend of his, with performances and will help Chicago.

Thompson managed to play in four games with the Pacers in which he was part of the Kings’ trades of Domandas Samponis in favor of Tyrese Halibarton and Buddy Hild. With the acquisition of Thompson, the Bulls now have a player with championship performances (he won the 2016 championship with the Cubs), but also a forward/center who can breathe air for Nikola Vucevic.
