Beverly and Trent got into a fight and received a technical penalty… before the game started
Patrick Beverly and Gary Trent played through an odd phase after struggling and being hit with a technical penalty… before the game’s first bang.
Patrick Beverly is known to like to provoke. Gary Trent will not accept a fly on his sword. Their coexistence resulted in what is probably the fastest double technical penalty in NBA history after they were penalized…before the Wolves’ game began against the Raptors (the latter won 103-91).
The scene unfolded as follows: Carl-Anthony Towns and Austin Barnes prepared to capture the ball in the first yambol of the game. Beverly and Trent were side by side as the former…wanted to demarcate his territory and the latter urged. Trent didn’t like that when he reacted, however, with the result that teammates, opponents and referees all stepped in to make sure the situation didn’t escape.
For the record, Trent was the Raptors’ top scorer with 30 points, proving he probably wasn’t affected by Beverly’s…mind games.
